Jack McManamon's Tribute
to his father:
This is a true story of a Cleveland Policeman who for 30 years
was a Patrolman in the City of Cleveland, Ohio and was shot in the
Glenville Riots; Was the founding Vice President of the C.P.P.A.;
Was decorated twelve times; and was always on a zone car till he
retired.

DUTIES OF OFFICE
The
President
is the Chief Executive Officer of the
Association. He presides over all meetings
including the Board of Directors, enforces the laws
and rules of the Association, decides questions of
order, and retains all other powers as set forth by
our Constitution. The President shall sign all
checks and orders on the treasury for money ordered
paid by the Association.
Assignments: Grievances, OPS Complaints, Member
Assistance Fund
The
First Vice President
aids and assists the President, and in his absence,
assumes and discharges the duties of the office of
President.
Assignments: Grievances, Facilities and Grounds,
Show Fund, Sick Time Banks
The
Second Vice President
aids and assists the President in conducting
meetings, and in the absence of both preceding
offices, he shall assume and discharge the duties
of the office of President.
Assignments: COPServices, Ten Hour Shifts,
Contract Negotiation Committee, Equipment/Weapons,
Call-Ups, UDF's, UNDF's
The
Recording Secretary
keeps the minutes of all meetings, and all files and
records of the Association. The Secretary also
signs all contracts and obligations incurred by the
Association.
Assignments: Website, Political
Action/Legislation, Awards, Training
The
Treasurer
is the custodian of all Association funds. He shall
issue checks and pay expenses, and his signature is
required on all disbursements, along with the
President. The Treasurer keeps all accounts, books,
programs and financial records of the Association.
Assignments: All member monetary issues: Pay, FLSA,
Deferred Compensation, Social Club, Radio, Medical
The
Financial Secretary
assists the Treasurer with all financial maters of
the Association. In the Treasurers absence, he
assumes and discharges the same duties, including
disbursement of funds.
Assignments: Weapons, Uniforms, Zone Cars, Training
The
Sergeant at Arms
enforces order at all meetings, and determines the
rights and eligibility of persons to attend and
participate in Association meetings and events.
Assignments: Board of Directors coordination
The
Trustees
inspect all books and records of the Association,
ensuring proper accounting and order. A Chairman,
as selected among the Trustees, presents an annual
report to the Membership.
